Gordon W. Smith, 82, passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in Snowflake. Services were held Nov. 20 at the Snowflake Stake Center. Interment followed at the Snowflake Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 30, 1931, to Beulah Louvina Boyd and Franklin Malkin Smith in Monroe, Wash. He lived in Monroe, Everett, Olympia, McCleary and Bellevue, Wash., and Chandler and and Snowflake, Ariz.
Gordon was sealed for time and eternity to Donna Smith on Jan. 25, 1992, in Bellevue.
He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. In addition to his time spent serving his country, his professions included law enforcement, and manufacturing, research, and development for Boeing, as well as other employment as necessary to provide for his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Donna of the family home; eight children, Cristi (Dave) Rieland of Washington, Gordon (DaNae) Smith of Idaho, Stephani Ross of Minnesota, Camille (Michael) Luke of Washington, Nicole (Russel) Peterson of Arizona, BreeAnne (Jeff) Chadwick of Maryland, Zachary (Sarah) Smith of Washington and Jamilyn (Brian) Brooks of Washington; 35 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Beulah; three sons, Steven, Wesley and Joshua Smith; and two brothers, Kenneth Brashler and Gerald Brashler.
