Holbrook Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kathleen Smith invites the community to make Christmas ornaments for the community Christmas tree.
“We welcome different organizations, offices and families to participate. Try to make them waterproof and you won’t get them back, but they will be there for everyone to enjoy for the holiday season,” said Smith.
The program will take place at Gillespie Park this year. Place your ornament on the community tree during the simultaneous lighting of the tree and the Old Courthouse ceremony at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The American Legion will turn on the lights, while Holbrook High School’s Swing Thing will offer entertainment.
If you are unable to attend the tree lighting ceremony, drop off your ornaments at city hall, located at 465 First Ave., before the event.
Also new this year is a big star with wreaths on either side that will be placed at the intersection of Navajo Blvd. and Arizona Street. The new decoration was created by Dale Larsen’s welding class at HHS.
