Six seniors are on the roster for Coach Andy Wood’s Snowflake Lobos as they get the basketball season underway this week, including Everett Lunt, Kegan Kay, Luke Lewis, Ty Reidhead, Dallin Fusselman and Rick Shumway. They are joined by juniors Gunner Caldwell, Tanner Crosby, Porter Black and Travis Flake, and sophomores Jordan Gardner, Kurt Wood and Keegan Bjornn.
After playing at St. Johns to open the season on Tuesday, the Lobos are scheduled to face Winslow and Copper Canyon on Thursday, Dec. 5, the first day of the Sedona Tournament. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, they host Blue Ridge, then take to the road again to compete in the Pepsi tournament, which begins on Thursday, Dec.12, in Flagstaff.
The Lobos are coming off a stellar season in which they went 26-8 and advanced to the Division III state semifinals before a six-point loss to Valley Christian put an end to their year. Five seniors are gone from that team, all of whom had a lot of floor time. This year’s team has five players who return with varsity experience.
