American Legion Post No. 37 was grand marshal of this year’s Parade of Lights. The parade’s theme, Home for the Holidays, was well suited for honoring our veterans.
This festive float by the Las Joya Del Disierto Mexican Folk Dancers featured performers entertaining the crowds.
This entry by Tony Aguilera and friends depicts the Nativity, along with children paying tribute to the Christ child.
The Santa’s Award went to the Navajo County Rodeo Queens. Princess Sydney Phillips of Queen Creek accepted the award presented by Sierra Wenger on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce.
The Sugar Plum Award went to the Navajo County Attorney’s Office for this float depicting all those who serve our communities in law enforcement, fire prevention and the military.
The Nutcracker Award went to this float, a combined effort of Holbrook High School Swing Thing and the City of Holbrook. This entry will also be part of the Fiesta Bowl Parade on Dec. 28.
The Angel Award went to the Seventh-day Adventist School for this religious themed float.
The Elves Award went to the Holbrook Painted Desert Kiwanis Club for this patriotic themed float.
The Tinsel Award, the overall award for the best float, went to the Arizona Department of Transportation for their scenic float.
The Jingle Bells Award went to the Hopi Travel Plaza for its small commercial float.
The Reindeer Award went to Hashknife Posse members for their equestrian procession.
The Holly Award went to this float designed by the Adrian and Marlene Sample family.
The Toyshop Award was presented to the Arizona Public Service Co./Cholla Power Plant by Joshua Fisher (left) on behalf of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce.
