Melissa Leeann Prather went to play with trains with God on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013. No services are planned.
She was born in Wisconsin in 1934.
Melissa was a founding member of the Overhead Car Club in Seattle. She was also active in many organizations in Holbrook, including the Holbrook Lions Club, which she served as president, and the Holbrook Senior Center, where she was a member of the board of directors. She was a member of the Navajo County Historical Society, the Bucket of Blood Re-Enactors, the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce and the car club. She was also active in the effort to restore the buildings on Bucket of Blood Street. She donated to the Bread of Life Mission.
She enjoyed getting dressed up and going to the opera in true form. She also enjoyed puzzles, and going to Denny’s for breakfast every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Melissa will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Avis and Larry Lumbert of Washington; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Diana of California; and four sisters and a stepsister, Shirley, Joanne, Charlet, Barbara and Bettylou.Prather
