The Winslow Bulldogs earned a split on the courts last week, defeating the Alchesay Falcons Thursday night in Whiteriver, then falling to the Warriors on Saturday in Tuba City.
Alchesay led 11-9 after the first quarter, but the Bulldogs rallied and led 30-25 at the half and 47-44 after three quarters. The Winslow squad won the contest 63-55.
Arnold Walker of Alchesay led all scorers with 26 points.
Winslow was led by Trelonnie Sanders with 20 points, followed by Stevin Nelson with 10.

The Warriors held the Bulldogs to one three-point goal in the first quarter of Saturday’s game and led 11-3 going into the second period. The lead was a commanding 29-16 at the half. Winslow rallied in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 43-37 going into the final period, but the Warriors regrouped to win 58-47.
Free throws were a large part of the difference in scoring as Winslow missed all six of its charity tosses while Tuba City converted 11 of 18 attempts.
Christian Begody led all scorers with 20 points for Tuba City.
Sanders led Winslow with 13 points and Frank Kelly added 11.

The Bulldogs were 14-7 going into Tuesday night’s game with the visiting Round Valley Elks. They will be in Flagstaff tonight (Jan. 15) to face the Eagles and will host the Mingus Marauders on Monday, Jan. 20.
