The Eagles defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 68-45 in a basketball game played last Wednesday at Flagstaff. The win improved Flagstaff’s record to 13-2 for the season, while Winslow’s record fell to 15-8.
The first quarter was close, but the Eagles pulled away in the second quarter and coasted to the victory. Flagstaff led 15-12 after the first quarter, but built a commanding 38-16 advantage by the half and a whopping 61-31 lead after three quarters. The Eagles are one of the better Division II schools and showed their talent during the contest.
Trevor Johnson led all scorers with 26 points for Flagstaff, all in the first three quarters, followed by Kalab Sandoval and Brett Morrow with 9 each.
Keenan Keams and Stevin Nelson each scored 11 points to lead Winslow’s offense.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to host the Mingus Marauders on Monday, visit the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets on Friday, Jan. 24, and host the Monument Valley Mustangs on Saturday, Jan. 25.
