The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Mingus Lady Marauders 58-36 in a basketball game played Monday night in Winslow. The win improved Winslow’s record to 13-4. Mingus dropped to 10-8 for the season.
Winslow had an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and a commanding 39-20 advantage at the intermission. Coach Jarron Jordan played his reserves much of the third quarter and all of the final period. The Bulldogs were up 49-36 after three quarters and the fourth quarter was the only period in which Mingus scored in double figures.
Halle Hayes led all scorers with 12 points for Winslow, followed by Shandiin Armao with 11; Jacey Sangster and Tannon Tom, 8 each; and Marcella Joe, 7.
Angel Chavez led Mingus with 10 points.

The Bulldogs will visit the Blue Ridge Lady Yellowjackets tonight (Jan. 24) in Lakeside, and host the Monument Valley Lady Mustangs on Saturday and the Holbrook Lady Roadrunners on Tuesday.
