The Blue Ridge Yellowjackets defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 65-57 in a basketball game played at Lakeside on Friday, but the Bulldogs bounced back to down Monument Valley’s Mustangs 79-66 in a home game the next night. Winslow’s record is now 16-10 for the season.
Blue Ridge held a 16-10 lead after the first quarter, which the Bulldogs cut to 31-28 by the intermission. The Yellowjackets increased the margin to 50-41 by the end of the third, though, and held on for the victory in the final frame.
Chris Williams led all scorers with 27 points for Blue Ridge. McKay Berges added 19 for the Yellowjackets.
Frank Kelly led Winslow with 17 points and Trelonnie Sanders scored 12.

Monument Valley led 22-19 after a high scoring first quarter on Saturday, but the Bulldogs rallied and led 39-38 at the half. Winslow used a good third quarter to take a 55-44 lead into the final period and held on for the victory.
Clayton Yazzie led all scorers with 33 points for Monument Valley. Redmond Delmar added 11 for the Mustangs and Ty Phillips scored 9.
Stevin Nelson led Winslow’s offense with 19 points, followed by Kelly with 18, and Sanders and Demetrius Gamez with 12 each.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to host Holbrook on Tuesday. They will be in Payson on Friday, Jan. 31, and host Show Low on Saturday, Feb. 1.
