The Lady Lobos dropped their first game of the week to Alchesay on Tuesday night, but bounced back to pick up wins over Round Valley and Payson to finish the week on a positive note.
Snowflake had just beaten Alchesay five days earlier, but this time around the Lady Falcons turned a five-point halftime lead into a 12-point home court win. The Lobos were close nearly midway through the final period, but down the stretch Alchesay pulled away, handing Snowflake a 52-40 loss.
Jessica Neff led Snowflake with 16 points, while Kadi Johnson added 10; Tycee Coplan, 7; Marisa Godfrey, 5; and Macie Rawlins, 2.
Wednesday’s road trip to Eagar went better for the Lobos. After leading Round Valley’s Lady Elks by just two after the first period, Snowflake outscored them by 10 in the second, building a double-digit halftime lead. The Lobos’ defense pitched a shutout in the third helping them extend the lead to eventually win the game 49-30.
Neff again led the charge with 12 points. Godfrey added 11; Coplan, 8; Johnson, 7; Annika Decker, 5; Rawlins, 4; and Courtney Baldwin, 2.
On Friday Snowflake avenged an earlier season loss with a 45-34 home court win over Payson.
The Lobos more than doubled up the Lady Longhorns in the first quarter, but then were outscored in both the second and third quarters before closing out the win in the final eight minutes.
Decker led the way with 10 points, followed by Johnson and Godfrey with 8 each; Coplan, 7; Neff, 6; Rawlins, 4; and Baldwin, 2.
The Lobos head into the second to last week of the regular season with an overall record of 12-9. They were 7-5 in power point contests. After playing at Globe on Tuesday, they will play Blue Ridge on Thursday, Jan. 30, in Lakeside. On Saturday they will host Safford and next Tuesday they will host Holbrook.
