The Lobos won all three games played last week, pushing their current win streak to five with victories over Alchesay, Round Valley and Payson.
On Tuesday Snowflake took on the Alchesay Falcons in Whiteriver, where they escaped with a hard fought, 67-65 road win. Snowflake had won this match up just five days early by six points in Snowflake and again the game was close.
Rick Shumway led the way on offense with 17 points, followed by Kurt Wood with 16; Kegan Kay, 12; Jordan Gardner, 9; Ty Reidhead, 5; and Travis Flake and Luke Lewis, 4 each.
After a late night returning from Whiteriver, Snowflake hit the road again the next night and enjoyed a much easier win, taking down the Round Valley Elks in Eagar, 72-46.
The Lobos opened up a big lead early and cruised to a 45-16 halftime advantage.
Flake led with 11 points. Wood added 10; Kay, Lewis and Keegan Bjorn, 9 each; Gardner, 8; Shumway, 6; Dallin Fusselman and Everett Lunt, 4 each; and Reidhead, 2.
Snowflake closed out the week with a six-point home court win over Payson on Friday night. Just a two-point cushion after one quarter expanded to an eight-point margin in favor of the Lobos at the half. Payson won the third period, but the Lobos held on to take the game 53-47.
Shumway netted 18; Fusselman, 8; Lewis and Reidhead, 6 each; Flake, 5; Kay, 4; and Gardner, Wood and Gunner Caldwell, 2 each.
With the three wins the Lobos improved their overall mark to 19-4 and advanced to 11-1 in power point games. After playing at Globe on Tuesday they will play Blue Ridge on Thursday, Jan. 30, in Lakeside, then host Safford on Saturday. Next Tuesday, the Lobos host Holbrook in the final week of the regular season.
