The Wildcats picked up wins over Cibecue and Superior, then fell to Ft. Thomas in games played last week.
Playing at Cibecue on Tuesday, Joseph City built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and kept that edge through the rest of the game to win 71-55. Daniel Hutchens, Wyatt Johnson, and Koby Smith shared scoring honors with 15 points each. Hayden Hendricks added 12; Cody Davis, 7; Kadin Crosby, Bryson Palmer and Landon Baldwin, 2 each; and Michael Diaz, 1.
Friday night the Wildcats hosted Superior and tallied a second straight 71-point winning effort, taking down the Panthers 71-59. Another strong opening quarter paved the way to a solid halftime lead and their fifth win of the season. Smith had a big night, leading the Wildcats in scoring with 25 points. Hutchens added 14; Johnson, 12; Davis, T.J. Hendricks and Hayden Hendricks, 6 each; and Baldwin, 2.
On Saturday the Wildcats fell to the visiting Ft. Thomas Apaches 53-39, leaving their season mark at 5-16.
Joseph City will host Mogollon tonight (Jan. 29), then travel to St. Johns on Friday, Jan. 31.
