Both Winslow and Holbrook high schools took home state championship titles after taking part in the Arizona Interscholastic Association State Champion Spiritline Competition held Jan. 25 at Tim’s Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.
WHS Support Forces racked up the overall highest score in the three areas of Co-Ed Cheer, Co-Ed Pom Squad and Partner Stunt Squad, earning the Overall Division II State Championship.
The HHS Spiritline took first in Co-Ed Pom Squad to win the Division II championship in that category. Members of the Spiritline also took first runner up in the Partner Stunt Squad category.
The coaches are Nicole Buonviri, Tessa Wadsworth and 22-year veteran Tamie Ramsey for the Winslow squad, and Nichole Lozano, Cheryl Carlson and Carey Kester for the Holbrook squad.
