The Roadrunners played well through the first three-fourths of Tuesday night’s contest in Winslow, but the final eight minutes were decidedly in the home team’s favor as the Bulldogs prevailed 66-52.
Holbrook trailed by just five at the close of the opening frame, but stayed in touch with a 14-point second period. Kyle Chee netted seven of his game high 18 in the second quarter. Trailing by eight at the half, Holbrook came out strong in the third period, outscoring Winslow by 10 to hold a two-point edge going into the fourth. In the final period Winslow connected on three shots from behind the arc and made five of six free throws to go along with four regular field goals. Defensively, the Bulldogs held Holbrook to only three two-point field goals, opening the game late, then cruising to the 12-point decision.
