The Joseph City Wildcats’ season came to a close Friday night with a 30-point road loss at Ray.
The Wildcats played tough through the first half, battling their way to just a four point deficit with the score at 36-32. The third and fourth periods weren’t so kind to the Cats. The hometown Bearcats piled up 45 second half-points while holding Joseph City to just 19 in the 81-51 loss, which finished off a long season for the visitors.
Overall the Wildcats went 5-19 on the season and finished 5-12 in power point contests.
Coach Scott Corum will need to rebuild with a younger team next season as Joseph City is losing six players to graduation this year. Only two juniors were on this year’s roster, so next year will certainly be a year to rebuild the Wildcat program.
