The Navajo County Fair Board finalized a proposed budget for the 2014 Navajo County Fair last Thursday. The theme will be Country Pride County Wide at the Navajo County Fair.
The total budget for the fair came to $100,000, with $35,000 allocated to entertainment, $26,000 to the rodeo, $12,500 to advertising, $7,000 to the Ranch Rodeo, $5,000 to the Little Buckaroo Rodeo, $5,000 to the Demolition Derby, $2,600 to Horse Achievement, $2,100 to Junior Livestock, $1,200 to the Junior Miss Pageant, $1,000 to the Navajo County Rodeo Queen pageant, $1,000 to Open Class, $600 to skidsteer entertainment, $500 to opening ceremonies and $500 to Small Stock.
Outside of the annual fair, the fairgrounds are scheduled for use every weekend throughout the year. This includes the upcoming Tolani Lake Team Roping event scheduled Feb. 28-March 2. This annual event brings in great roping entertainment and large crowds. The Southwest Junior Rodeo Association is also scheduled to host its finals at the fairgrounds Sept. 27 and 28.
