The Winslow City Council approved a late addition to its agenda last week by passing a resolution authorizing application for a $400,000 grant from the Arizona Commerce Authority for improvements on the Old Clear Creek Road. The city would need to fund $200,000 of the $600,000 needed to improve the road.
City officials have met with Navajo Nation representatives and with an agricultural business, which deals with the Navajo Nation desiring to build a hydroponic farm on Old Clear Creek Road. Such a farm would require that the road be substantially improved and that is the purpose of the grant application.
