The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Holbrook Lady Roadrunners 13-3 in a softball game played March 5 at Winslow, then followed that up with a 14-5 road win over the Page Lady Sand Devils two days later. The wins brought Winslow’s streak to seven without a loss.
Taylor Baca got the win over Holbrook, giving up three runs, only one of which was earned, on four hits and two walks. She fanned five in the game, which was shortened to five innings under the 10-run mercy rule.
The Roadrunners scored twice in the top of the first inning on singles by Alizia Foster, Demo Perkins and Tess Baldonado. Winslow cut the lead to 2-1 in the second inning on singles by Alyssa Smith and Liz Lozano. The Bulldogs went ahead 4-2 in the bottom of the third on a home run by Halle Hayes, a walk, and singles by Jaleisa Hayes, Richelyn Villanueva and Erica Jodie.
