The Lady Wildcat softball team now has an overall mark of 2-6 under first year head coach Kacey Halbison. Joseph City has picked up wins over Parker and St. Michaels, while dropping games to Chino Valley, Williams, Bagdad, Holbrook, Show Low and Mogollon.
In their most recent game the Wildcats came out on the wrong side of a 26-11 decision at home against the Mogollon Lady Mustangs.
Emily Cochran took the loss in the circle, where she worked all seven innings, facing 54 batters. She gave up 25 runs, 19 of those earned, on 20 hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
At the plate Kymber Flake led the way for the Cats, going three for five with an RBI and scored three runs. Morgan Johnson was one for one with a double and an RBI. Mary Larsen went one for five, scoring once. Sadie Tuckfield also went one for five, but drew a pair of walks and scored three times. Meghan Straw went one for four with an RBI and scored once. Chalet Baldwin went one for four. Kristen Hughes went one for five, walked once, had one RBI and scored twice.
The Wildcats will host St. Johns on Thursday, March 20, then play in the Gracie Haught Tournament in Payson over the weekend.
