The Lobos put together a perfect week going 3-0 with wins over Thatcher, Window Rock and Holbrook in a three-day stretch.
Hosting the Eagles last Wednesday, Snowflake scored six third inning runs to gain the upper hand. Thatcher scored just once in the fourth, but that wasn’t enough as Snowflake won the game 7-1.
The Lobos pounded out 10 hits in the win. Jarom Beecroft went two for three with a double, an RBI and scored once. Dalon Reidhead went one for two, scoring once. Caedon Ervien went two for three with a double, two RBIs and scored once. Matt Lamb went one for three, scoring once. Nate Kelley went two for three and scored once. Dallin Fusselman was one for two with a double and an RBI. Bradley Clark went one for one with a triple and an RBI. Garrett Jackson and Tyler Hanson each scored once.
On the hill, Fusselman faced 24 batters, giving up one unearned run on four hits with five strikeouts and a walk. Kelly worked one inning, facing six batters. He allowed no runs on two hits with a strikeout and a walk.
On Thursday the Lobos had an easy time as they cruised to a 16-0 win over visiting Window Rock.
Pitchers Jackson and Lamb teamed up to give up just two hits in five combined innings of work. Jackson worked on the hill for the first four innings, facing just 16 Scout batters. He allowed two hits with four walks and seven strikeouts. Lamb pitched the final inning, striking out all three of the batters he faced.
At the plate several Lobo batters had a good day. Beecroft went three for four with a double. Jackson was one for four with a double. Dalon Reidhead, Lamb and Kelley each went one for one. Ervien was two for four with a triple. Hanson went three for four with two doubles. Tanner Crosby was two for three. Hunter Bauer went three for three with a double. Clark was one for three.
Last Friday afternoon the Lobos were in Holbrook to take on the Roadrunners Snowflake. Snowflake jumped out early with seven runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Birds 16-4.
Beecroft went two for five with a double. Dalon Reidhead was one for one. Ty Reidhead was one for two. Ervien and Hanson were each one for three. Lamb was two for three. Crosby and Bauer were each one for five. Kelley was two for three with a double. Clark was one for one.
On the hill, Hanson worked 32/3 innings, facing 20 Holbrook batters. He gave up three runs, all earned, on six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Kelley pitched 21/3 innings facing only nine batters. He allowed one unearned run on one hit with a walk and two strikeouts. Beecroft pitched one inning, facing just three batters and recording a strikeout.
With the wins the Lobos improved their season mark to 7-1. They will play at Payson this afternoon (March 19), then host Round Valley on Friday, March 21. Following that game they will have time off for spring break, then return to action on Saturday, March 29, when they host Blue Ridge.
