Competing with 10 other teams at the Sedona Friendship Games track meet last Wednesday the Joseph City Wildcats had several athletes do well.
In the boys’ 800 meter dash, Forester Flake was fifth with a time of 2:16; Landon Baldwin, seventh in 2:19; and Landen Hunt, ninth in 2:26.
In the 1600 meter run, Landen Hunt was 13th with a time of 5:48; and Michael Diaz, 21st in 7:34.
Forester Flake, Landon Baldwin, Landen Hunt and Connor Neal combined to place fifth in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:01.
Daniel Hutchens, Landon Baldwin, Forester Flake and Landen Hunt placed first in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 8:56.
In the shot put, Conner Neal was seventh with a toss of 35-02; and Michael Diaz, 20th with 27-03.
In the discus, Conner Neal placed 14th with a throw of 35-02.
In the high jump, Lance Farnes and Aaron Johnston tied for eighth place, clearing a height of 5-04; and Daniel Hutchens, 10th with 5-00.
In the long jump, Daniel Hutchens placed second with a distance of 19-06; and Lance Farnes, ninth with 17-06.
In the triple jump, Daniel Hutchens placed fifth with a distance of 39-04.
In the girls’ 400 meter dash, Sarah Layden placed fifth with a time of 1:11.
In the 800 meter run, Shyann Flake was eighth with a time of 2:47; and Anja Mathiesen, 12th in 3:04.
In the 1600 meter run, Alyssa Hutchens finished fifth with a time of 7:06.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Brooke Baldwin placed first with a time of 17.24.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Brooke Baldwin placed second with a time of 51.95.
Anja Mathiesen, Tricia Bay-Morgan, Sarah Layden and Shyann Flake placed sixth in the 4×800 meter relay, finishing with a time of 12:00.
In the shot put, Madisen Fields placed fourth with a toss of 31-03; Katelyn Pugh, sixth with 29-10; and Krista Edwards, 11th with 25-08.
In the discus, Katelyn Pugh was third with a throw of 93-02; Madisen Fields, fifth with 89-08; and Krista Edwards, 12th with 68-09.
In the long jump, Tricia Bay-Morgan was fourth with a distance of 15-00; Taylor Elmer, 12th with 12-09; Anja Mathiesen, 22nd with 11-02; and Alyssa Hutchens, 26th with 10-04.
