Two teens were killed and three more were airlifted to a Phoenix hospital after the vehicle they were in rolled over in Snowflake on Thursday, April 3.
According to the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department, the one-vehicle crash took place at around 6:11 a.m. on Thursday on Tryon Road in the Snowflake Heights area. Police identified those involved as Eli Hoffman, 16, of Taylor and Ty King, 16, of Snowflake, who were deceased at the scene, and Paul Grandado, 18, and two 17-year-old boys, Kahlan Young and Shadow Dean, all of Snowflake, who were airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix in critical condition. As of April 6, Granados and Dean were out of intensive care, but Young remained in intensive care on life support.
Police are currently investigating how the incident occurred, but believe speed was a factor. It was also noted that seatbelts were not worn by anyone in the vehicle.
