The Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Longhorns 7-2 in a baseball game played Tuesday in Payson. The win left the Bulldogs with a 13-7 record for the season.
Kuster Kinlecheenie went the full seven innings for the victory, giving up two runs on six hits, two walks and two hit batters. He fanned four.
Payson scored two runs in the first inning on doubles by Tyus Sarnowski and Dailey Carnes, a hit batsman and a Winslow error for a 2-0 lead. Winslow plated six in the top of the second on a single by Matt Cirre, a walk, a hit batsman, and singles by Vincenzio Sells and Henry Montiel to take a 6-2 lead. The final run for the Bulldogs came on a single by Colton Corum and a double by Cirre in the top of the fifth inning.
The Bulldogs are slated to play the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets today (April 11) at Lakeside before hosting the Globe Tigers on Saturday. They host the Holbrook Roadrunners on Tuesday, April 15, and the Alchesay Falcons on Saturday, April 19.
