Ryan Baldonado, a freshman at Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D., and a member of the Saints baseball team, was recently named the college’s Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year. He was also named first team all conference for the North Star Athletic Conference in its first year, PC’s first year after becoming a member of the NAIA.

Baldonado is a pitcher for the PC Saints and starting third baseman. He has a batting average of .380 with seven home runs, and broke the old PC hit record of 50 with 53 hits.

In the Saints’ first ever conference win, defeating the top team in the conference, Jamestown, 1-0 in a close fought, 11-inning game, Baldonado pitched nine scoreless innings before handing the ball to a teammate who followed with two shutout innings for the win.

He is a 2012 Holbrook High School graduate, and the son of Jodi McGraw and Napoleon Baldonado, both of Holbrook.
