The Lady Lobos have advanced to the final four of the Division III State Softball Tournament.  After receiving a first round bye, fourth ranked Snowflake took care of 20th seeded Thatcher on Friday with relative ease in a 10-3 win to advance to the quarters. Saturday’s match up with Blue Ridge was a nail biting pitcher’s duel and by the time it had ended Snowflake found themselves with a spot in the final four thanks to a hard fought 2-1 victory over the 5th seeded Lady Yellowjackets.

Saturday’s win means the Lobos will face top ranked Payson on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the first semi-final game.   This will be the fourth meeting between these two clubs this season. Each team defeated the other 8-0 in two midseason tournament match ups and Payson won their only regular season meeting 8-4.

Benson and Winslow square off in the other semi final game Friday evening. If the Lobos can upset top ranked Payson they will play for the state championship on Saturday evening at 7:45 at the Rose Mofford Softball Complex.
