Joseph City High School athletes did well at the Division IV State Track Meet with Katelyn Pugh coming home the state champion in the discus event with a throw of 110-00.
Madison Fields placed 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 33-05. Koby Smith and Aaron Johnstun also finished in the top five with both tying for 5th in the high jump clearing 5-06. Alec Solomon placed 7th in the discus with a throw of 126-11. Brooke Baldwin placed 8th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.85. She also finished 8th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.69. Madison Fields placed 10th in the discus with 84-04.
Along with her title in the discus Katelyn Pugh placed 19th in the shot put with a toss of 36-10. Neil Conner finished 19th in the discus with a throw of 91-04 and he was 13th in the shot put with a toss of 36-10.
In the 400 meter run, Lindi Gardner was 12th with a time of 1:05, and Sarah Layden placed 17th just one second behind in 1:06. In the 200 meter dash, Gardner finished 14th with a time of 29.32. Amanda Baldwin placed 15th in that event with a time of 30.20. Shyann Flake placed 24th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:49.
In the long jump, Tricia Bay-Morgan placed 24th with a distance of 12-08. In the boys long jump Daniel Hutchens placed 18th with a distance of 18-02. Hutchens also placed 9th in the triple jump traveling a distance of 38-01. Lance Farnes was 13th in the triple jump with 37-07.
In the relay races, the boys placed 3rd in the 4 x 800 meter relay with a time of 8:33. The girls finished 9th in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 4:34 and they were 13th in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 55.70.
In the team scores the Wildcats finished 18th in the boys division and 13th in the girls side of the ledger.
