Several members of the Holbrook Unified School District faculty and staff were honored at the annual Holbrook High School Scholarship Banquet held May 15.
Daniel Mitchell was named the Holbrook High School Teacher of the Year.
Brian McMahon was honored as the Holbrook Junior High School Teacher of the Year.
Roni Orton was selected as the Indian Wells Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Kerry Perkins was named the Hulet Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Stephanie Peters was honored as the Park Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Ramona Joe of IWES was selected as the Teacher New To Teaching of the Year at the elementary level.
Taylor Lee of HJHS was named the Teacher New To Teaching of the Year at the secondary level.
Peggy Redmond was honored as the district’s Support Staff of the Year.
Also honored were those retiring from the district, including Business Manager Garry McDowell, who had 30 years of service to the district; Lily Jean Gillespie of Park School, 25 years; Raul Mendoza of HHS, 13 years; Sandra Slimko of IWES, 12 years; Etta Bitsilly of the Transportation Department, 11 years; Gail McKeller of Hulet School, eight years; and Charles Newberry of HJHS, seven years.
