Arthur “Art” Serna passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at his home in Holbrook.
He was born on March 17, 1938, in New Mexico, to Iro and Clorinda Serna, the second of seven children. They moved to Holbrook when he was very young. He attended the Holbrook schools and graduated in 1956.
Arthur was married twice and had seven children, Arthur James (Cindy) Serna, Moe Serna, Chris (Debbie) Serna, Carol (Tommy) Baldwin, Valerie Sedillo, John (Diana) Serna and Crystal (James) Norton. He had 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He loved his children and grandchildren. Some of his best times were having large family campouts, whether it be for hunting or fishing, or just plain camping.
He had done construction most of his life, but as he got older he went to work for the City of Holbrook at the senior center. He retired from the City of Holbrook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iro and Clorinda Serna; his brother, Sunny Serna; and two grandchildren, Billy and Jennifer. He is now fishing in heaven with his family.
