A one-vehicle rollover accident in Holbrook resulted in the death of an area woman, according to the Holbrook Police Department.
The accident was reported at 10:32 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, by witnesses who stated that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed rolled while attempting to turn from Mary Wilderman Drive onto Barger Lane, a dirt road near the old partition plant. According to Police Chief Mark Jackson, when he arrived on the scene the driver of the vehicle, Lorinda Maho, 25, who had lived in both Holbrook and Polacca, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled at least twice before landing on its roof. He administered CPR until EMTs arrived, but she died at the scene a short time later.
A passenger in the vehicle, Roger Crawley, 20, of Holbrook, escaped injury, but was charged with providing false information to a law enforcement officer after he stated that he had been a witness to the accident, but was not in the vehicle. Alcohol was reportedly found in the vehicle, but it is unknown at this time if that was a factor in the accident.
