Marie E. Dickson passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, surrounded by loved ones in Scottsdale. The funeral service was held June 21 at Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was born Feb. 25, 1943, to Howard and Edith Kanuho.
Marie married Jimmie Dickson Sr. in 1959. She was a homemaker, a Navajo weaver, and an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved everyone, always had a smile on her face and made each person she came in contact with feel special. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, because she will always be in our hearts and memories.
Survivors include her spouse, Jimmie Dickson Sr.; five children, Jimmie (Louise) Dixon Jr., Delphine (Victor) Gray, Gilbert (Jane) Dickson Sr., Gilver (Darlene) Dickson Sr. and Phena Mae Dickson; three sisters, Rosabeele Walker, Arlene Kanuho and Evelyn Kanuho; 19 grandchildren, Orlando (Jana) Dixon, Rashelle Dixon, Calvert (Jennifer) Dixon, Shawna (Lorenzan Lorenzo) Dixon, Shanney (Rockey) Ramone, Layla Dixon, Jalene (Codell Williams) Nezzie, T.J. Dickson, Gilbert Dickson, Gilbert Dickson Jr., Shalene Dickson, Stephanie (Darius) Antonio, Victoria Gray, Sgt. Samantha Gray, Monty J. Dickson, Natasha Dickson, Cody Dickson, Gilver Dickson Jr. and Cooper Dickson; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edith Kanuho; a sister, Rose Ann Yazzie; a brother, Henry Kanuho; a grandson, Delfred Dickson; and a grandson-in-law, Delvin Nezzie.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
