National Administrator for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Housing Service was in Holbrook recently to make a presentation to Arizona’s Site Manager of the Year, Alexandria Attakai.
Administrator Tony Hernandez was visiting Arizona as part of the national celebration of Homeownership Month. Accompanying him was USDA Rural Development Arizona State Director Alan Stephens.
Attakai, site manager for Holbrook Court Apartments, received the award based on the positive feedback from the tenants and multi-family staff of USDA Rural Development. Holbrook Court is one of 120 Rural Development multi-family housing complexes in Arizona.
During the presentation, Hernandez asked Attakai what makes her such a good site manager.
She explained that she and her husband had lived at the apartments before she was recruited to be the manager. She said she thought that gave her a first-hand understanding of what tenants need and want. She has been managing the complex since 2007.
On hand to celebrate the award was Sonia Ramirez, district manager for AWI Management Corporation, which manages the complex.
