Olive Edmee Stahl, 97, of Overgaard peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in Lakeside. A private family memorial will be held at the gravesite in Yuma.
She was born, the baby of the family, to the late George J. and Ida (Bercot) Poirier on Feb. 25, 1917, in Bay City, Mich.
Olive raised her sons in Yorba Linda, Calif., on a citrus farm. She lived in Somerton and Yuma for 45 years, where the family continued to farm citrus. In 2005 she moved to Overgaard with her son David.
During her lifetime she was a book reviewer and volunteer for the Yorba Linda Library and worked for several years for the Sunkist Citrus Exchange in Yuma. She was an avid quilter and made quilts for all the family members.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, David E. Crist and Melvin Stahl; a son, Gary C. Crist; brother, Laurence Poirier and two sisters, May Allec and Lorena Robbins.
Survivors include her son, David G. Crist and wife, Rosalyn Joy; daughter-in-law, Wilma Crist; four grandchildren, Randall D. Crist and wife, Donna, Scott M. Crist and wife, Pamela, Gary Lee Crist and wife, Shannon, and Lorri Raney and husband, Alan; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
