The San Juan Fire, located 18 miles southeast of Show Low, was 90 percent contained as of Monday, according to information provided by the Southwest Area Incident Management Team. The fire started June 26 and reportedly consumed more than 6,975 acres. There were a total of 353 personnel involved in battling the blaze, along with two helicopters and bulldozers, three water tenders, four hand crews and 10 engines.
A partial closure of the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest remains in place, as does one for a portion of the White Mountain Apache tribal lands.
