“The reason we are here tonight is to set a statutory legal decision,” said Gus Lundberg, Taylor Town Manager noting, “In my opinion we should be discussing it (the budget) continually.”
Lundberg explained that the budget process is to estimate what they think the resources will be for the fiscal year and come up with a plan as to where to allocate those resources. “State law says to set an overall amount and we cannot exceed that limit,” said Lundberg.
The Taylor Town Council had met prior to the July 2 meeting to discuss the budget. Council unanimously approved the tentative budget of $5,368,500 for the 2104-15 fiscal year.
