Eldon Kenyon Skousen, 78, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Vernon. He has been a resident since birth. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 25, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lakeside Chapel, 1520 Church Lane in Lakeside. A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. in the Relief Society Room. Interment will follow at Alpine Community Cemetery. He was born in Phoenix on Nov. 22, 1935. Eldon was last employed by Town of Pinetop-Lakeside for 14 years. He was a member of the LDS church, and served as high councilman, high priest group leader and temple worker. Eldon loved going to Blue Ridge High School football games. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. He liked cars and going to drag races. He loved doing activities with his grandchildren. Survivors include his spouse, Dell Marlene Skousen; three sons, Chris (Becky), David (Wendy) and Darren (Marjorie); a daughter, Dee Dee Stevenson (Greg); a sister, Lurene Riggs; two brothers, Stanley Skousen and Clifford Skousen; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Michael Kenyon Skousen and D’Wayne James Skousen. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
