Members of the Holbrook High School Spirit Line attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp held July 23-26 at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, where they learned several new cheers, stunts and routines.

Juniors Jose Luna and Patrick O’Brien were selected for the All-American team, and have the opportunity to represent HHS in London for New Year’s.

Junior Kailen Matty was selected as a pin-it-forward recipient for being so dedicated to her team and showing her passion for the sport of cheerleading. She was nominated by lead UCA instructor Travis Doerfler, who also serves as Northern Arizona University’s head cheerleading coach. He was the team’s mentor.

The team received first place in the Extreme Routine competition, first in the Sideline Cheer, third in Game Day and third in Timeout Cheer, and was the camp’s most improved squad. The Spirit Line also received a blue superior ribbon for its Fight Song performance.
