This year Navajo County will celebrate 83 years of fair and rodeo with the Navajo County Fair, set for Sept. 10-14 in Holbrook.
Entertainment will include some annual favorites, including two nights of rodeo followed by music by Buckit, the Demolition Derby, the Junior Miss Pageant, the Little Buckaroo Rodeo, the Ranch Rodeo, and the Mini Excavator and Skid Steer Competition. New this year will be turkey racing. There will also be open class exhibits and demonstrations, the Junior Livestock Show and auction, the 4-H Horse Show, the Small Stock Show and exhibits.
There will be terrific food, including Jose’s Green Chile, funnel cakes, old-fashioned lemonade and other fair food favorites.
Entertainment for the kids will include magicians, balloon artists, pony rides and a petting zoo, along with entertainment by local entertainers throughout the week.
The fair wouldn’t be complete without a carnival and this year the fair welcomes back Frazier Shows of America.
Fair books are available at the fair office in Holbrook and at businesses throughout the county, providing information for residents who want to enter their homegrown or homemade items, and collections.
