Photo courtesy of the Old Trails Museum In 1964, Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater kicked off his presidential campaign in Prescott, delivering a speech on the front steps of the county courthouse before a large crowd of supporters and media. Winslow radio station KINO sent Judge John P. Clark (right) and Betty Patterson (center) to cover the event. They conducted numerous live interviews in Prescott and the most memorable was with actor Tex Ritter (left). His sparkling personality and wit made the interview great fun for the listening audience in Winslow.
