Wanda Sue Baird passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at her home in Cornville after a long struggle with lung disease. A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 309 W. Willow, with services to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
She was born to Herbert and Arah Russ on Dec. 8, 1939, in Poteau, Okla.
She married Calvert Smith from Pinetop and had her first daughter, Deborah (Mills). They lived in Pinetop for a short time and divorced in 1957.
She later met Orville (Parky) Lyman Baird and married him on Oct. 10, 1959. They had three children. They moved to Cornville in 1977. She then worked in health care at the Cottonwood hospital and retired after 25 years.
She was preceded in death by son, William (Billy) Baird; and her husband, Orville (Parky).
Survivors include her daughter Deborah Mills of Cornville; son Danny Baird of Cornville; daughter Shannon Baird of Cornville; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Snowflake was in charge of the arrangements.
