The Snowflake volleyball squad cruised past Winslow last Tuesday, winning the match in three games, 25-21, 25-12 and 25-11.
In that match Emma Tenney finished with 13 kills, one ace and three digs. Shayna Austin had one kill and three digs; Shelby Reidhead, six kills and one assist; Eilee Penrod, one dig and eight assists; Bailey Standerfer, two aces and three digs; Aubry Flake, seven kills; Tori Flake, five digs; Sydney Olson, five kills and an ace; Melissa Eich, four aces, five digs and 13 assists, and Mikelle Stradling, three assists.
Over the weekend the Lady Lobos competed in the Millennium Madness Tournament held at Millennium High School. Play on Friday saw the Lobos defeat Casa Grande, 25-8 and 25-10; Agua Fria, 25-20, 24-26 and 15-4; and Browne, 25-17 and 25-8.
On Saturday the Snowflake squad took care of Desert Edge in two games, 25-20 and 25-22, then faced a tough Sunrise Mountain team, losing twice to that opponent in the tournament with each loss in two games.
Heading into this week the Lobos were 3-1 in non-tournament power point matches. After playing at Cortez on Tuesday, they will travel to Heber today (Sept. 17) to face Mogollon. This weekend the Lobos will host their invitational, with pool play beginning on Friday, Sept. 19.
