Linda Elaine (Coughlin) Almaraz entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in Flagstaff. Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Greer’s Mortuary Chapel in Winslow. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (Oct. 3), also at Greer’s Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at 2 o’clock this afternoon at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flagstaff.
She was born June 1, 1951, in Winslow.
Elaine graduated from Winslow High School in 1969. She worked for Southern Union Gas Company for several years. She then moved to Flagstaff, where she started working at Flagstaff Medical Center in the laboratory until her retirement in April 2013. She loved and was loved by her many clients over the years.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Elaine met and married Steve Almaraz in January 1984, and they made their home in Flagstaff. Together they enjoyed going to the casino and loved their Cardinals season tickets, which they had for several years. They also enjoyed picking piñons and watching some baseball games. She was a diehard Raiders fan.
Survivors include her husband, Steve of Flagstaff; two daughters, Tina (Nick) and Cindy (Mark), both of Winslow; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Dustin) Mild, Justin Mileham, Daniel Lopez, Gabrielle Lopez, Clarissa Wong (J.R.) and Amiee Wong; her great-grandkids, Braedyn Cole, Brooklyn Cole and Riley Jade Perez; her sister, Mary K. (John) Vanhemert of Joseph City; her brother, Edward Coughlin (Tancy) of Winslow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jean Coughlin; and a granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Lopez.
Elaine will be missed by all who knew her.
