The Lady Wildcats wrapped up their second to last week of the regular volleyball season with two hard fought wins and a rough loss, moving their overall mark to 14-2 heading into their final match of the season, which will be played tonight (Oct. 29) at Holbrook.  Joseph City entered this week ranked seventh in the Division V power point standings, and will be playing in the state tournament, which begins on Friday, Nov. 7, in Prescott Valley.

Joseph City edged St. Johns in five games last Tuesday. The Cats dropped the first two games 25-15 and 25-23, but bounced back to win the match, taking the final three games 25-22, 28-26 and 15-12.

The next day’s trip to Ray wasn’t so successful, with the Cats dropping the match in three straight games 25-18, 25-13 and 25-19.

Last Friday, Joseph City won at Round Valley in five games.

Regardless of tonight’s outcome, the Wildcats should be one of the top eight seeds when the state playoffs get underway.
