The Joseph City Lady Wildcats will debut in the Division V State Volleyball Tournament as the eighth overall seed when they face ninth seeded Ray in their opening round match at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Prescott Valley Events Center. The Wildcats will be hoping to avenge an earlier season loss to the Lady Bearcats, who beat them 3-0.
With a first round win the Wildcats would face either top ranked Glendale Prep or No. 16 Phoenix Christian in round two at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Joseph City’s final regular season match was a 3-0 loss to the Lady Roadrunners in Holbrook last Wednesday. Holbrook won the match 25-8, 25-0 and 25-23.
Shannon Mosier finished with five kills for Joseph City, followed by Lindi Gardner and Krista Edwards with four each, Katelyn Pugh with two and Taylor Elmer with one. Chalet Baldwin served three aces, while Edwards and Mosier served two each. Gardner led in digs with 10, followed by Edwards with nine, Baldwin and Mosier with six each, Elmer and Pugh with two each, and Summer Brown with one.
