Veronica Sanchez passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, marking the end of a valiant effort to regain her ability to live life on her own terms. Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial were held Nov. 24 at Madre de Dios Catholic Church in Winslow. Veronica was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was well known for the delicious burritos she would deliver all around town. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards and bunco. She loved all kinds of music and movies. Her favorite saying in life was Hakuna Matata, “No worries for the rest of your days.” Veronica had the most beautiful smile and infectious laugh, which she shared generously with everyone she met. God has called her from among us to a home of eternal rest. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed by the name of the Lord. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
