David Allen Favro left this world peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at home with family at his side. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, located at 320 N. Ninth St. in Show Low.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1936, in Cadyville, N.Y., and moved to Phoenix in the early 1960s with his parents.
He enjoyed playing the violin as a young man. He also loved ice skating on the lakes in New York and in Flagstaff. When he was young he played on a semi-pro baseball team as a catcher. He loved to hunt, fish and golf, and was an avid bowler for many years.
He was married to the love of his life, Bonnie, for 41 years. They lived in Safford, where he worked for Empire Machinery, and moved to Show Low in 1978. He retired from Empire after 44 faithful years as the parts and service manager.
He loved all of his kids and grandkids as much as anybody could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cy and Thelma Favro; and two brothers, Ronnie and Gary Favro.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Renee Favro; son, Curt Favro (Kelly); stepson, Richard Fowler (Ada); stepdaughter, Lori Kennedy; 12 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids; and one great-great-grandchild.
