The Roadrunners closed out the first half of their schedule with a solid road win at Ganado last Thursday night, taking down the Hornets 51-23.
The Holbrook squad led 13-2 at the end of the first and was never threatened the rest of the way. The Birds did slow their offensive attack a bit in the second period, netting just seven points, but still led 20-6 at the half. They put the game out of reach in the third and fourth periods by pouring in 31 points while giving up just 17.
Marcel Young led a large group of Roadrunners in scoring with 12 points. Marlin Martin added 9; Miireux Begaii and Alec Smith, 6 each; Marcos Clark, 5; Sylas Chevarillo and Quinlan Keoni, 4 each; Nathan Johnson, 3; and Abrian Dickson and Kelsey Foster, 2 each.
With the win the Roadrunners pushed their season mark to 12-5. They also moved to 3-2 in power point contests. They will be out of action over the holiday break. They return to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 6, when they travel to Snowflake to take on the Lobos.
