Playing all three games at home last week the Lady Lobos of Snowflake took advantage of familiar surroundings by adding three more checks to the win column with victories over Alchesay, Round Valley and Payson.
Tuesday’s game with Alchesay started slowly for the Lobos as they trailed 12-3 after the first eight minutes. By halftime they had managed to trim the lead to only four. Snowflake continued to fight back in the third, tying the game heading into the final quarter. In the final eight minutes the Lobos eked out a two-point win, 34-32.
Tycee Coplan led the way with 15 points. Audrey Livingston added 5; Tori Flake, 4; Marisa Godfrey and Kadi Johnson, 3 each; and Melissa Eich and Elle Flake, 2 each.
On Wednesday night the Lobos were more efficient in the first eight minutes, building a 16-10 lead against Round Valley. That lead grew to nine by halftime and increased to 10 by the end of the third. Snowflake went on to win the game 47-36.
Eich led the Lobo offense with 13 points. Godfrey added 10; Johnson netted 9 with 13 rebounds; Tori Flake, 8 points; Coplan, 6; and Macie Rawlins, 1.
Friday’s game with Payson was controlled throughout by Snowflake. The Lobos led the scoring in each of the four periods en route to a 54-36 win against the much taller Lady Longhorns.
Tori Flake wasn’t bothered by the size, leading the team with 20 points. Johnson added 14; Livingston and Coplan, 5 each; Godfrey, 4; and Eich, Elle Flake and Makayla Hall, 2 each.
With the three victories the Lobos improved to 13-9 overall and headed into this week’s action ranked 11th in power points. After hosting Globe on Tuesday, they will host Blue Ridge in their final regular season home game on Thursday, Jan. 29. They begin the first of four road trips to close out the regular season with a trip to Safford on Saturday, Jan. 31.
