Althea Rose Yazzie, 68, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Flagstaff Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (Jan. 30) at the Living Waters Baptist Church in Sanders, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the McCarrell Cemetery in Chambers.
She was born April 18, 1946, in Ganado to Guy Morgan Hubbard Sr. and Ruth Cecilia Becenti Hubbard.
Althea was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she knew and met. She especially loved her grandchildren and would do anything for them to see that they were happy. Her favorite thing was to travel to Hawaii to see her grandchildren who live there.
Althea and Bennie were married for 46 years.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie Yazzie; three children, Floyd (Teela)
Yazzie, Cheryl Yazzie and Bennie Yazzie Jr.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilford Hubbard and Cecil Hubbard; and one sister, Gloria Balentine.
She has gone to join her parents, a son and a brother in Heaven.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.
