Allen Mitchell Allen Mitchell of Holbrook has been a posse rider for four years, continuing a Mitchell family tradition. His father, Dale Mitchell, was a longtime Hashknife member, as were his uncles, Michael and Wendell Mitchell.

William F. Fischer III William F. Fischer III of Los Lunas, N.M., has been a posse member for 27 years. His father William F. Fischer Jr. served with the posse for 42 years, including 12 as captain and another 12 as trail boss. His mother Betty Jo Fischer designed the first cancelation stamp made for the Hashknife Posse Pony Express Ride, as well as the most recent one.

Tommy Allen This is Tommy Allen’s first ride with the posse. A resident of Flagstaff, he was raised in Holbrook and has been around the posse most of his life. His dad Del has been with the posse for 10 years and served on the board for three.

Tim Kelley Tim Kelley serves as the posse’s chairman of the board. He has been with the Hashknife for 12 years. Tim grew up in Holbrook, and has worked for the city for nearly 20 years. He remembers seeing the posse leave on the annual ride as he was growing up, and is proud to be a member.

Steve Reynolds Steve Reynolds of Holbrook has been a posse volunteer for 38 years. His dad Art was a member for 35 years. His brothers join him on the ride, including Mark, who serves as captain, Carl and Pat. Steve retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Sam Buckingham Sam Buckingham of Apache Junction has been a posse member for two years. Back home he works as an aircraft mechanic and serves on several non-profit organizations, but being a cowboy is a way of life for him.

Posse 1st Sgt. Pat Nichols Pat Nichols of Holbrook has been with the posse for eight years. He serves as first sergeant, and is secretary/treasurer of the board. His grandfather Denver Nichols was a posse member from 1959-61, and his son Brandon joined the Hashknife in 2009.

Kevin Fetherston Kevin Fetherston of Gilbert is a member of the posse board. He first served with the Hashknife from 1978-90, and has been back since 2009. He worked as a deputy sheriff for the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and retired from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
