Cole Mortensen and Wacey Wood, both of Snowflake, were crowned state champions at the Division IV state wrestling meet held recently in Prescott Valley.

Wrestling in the 138-pound class Mortensen posted a 4-0 mark, winning the title match 2-1 over Darren Gonzales of Morenci.

Wood earned his title in the 145-pound class with a 5-4 win in the final match over Joe Gaylor of Mogollon.  Wood also went 4-0 at the state meet.

Leon LeGrange went 3-2 in the 220-pound class to claim fourth place. Also taking fourth was JR Fox in the 285-pound division with a 4-2 record.

Thomas Frost went 1-2 in the 132-pound class.

As a team, the Lobos placed seventh overall in Division IV with 96 points. Camp Verde easily took the team crown with 167 points.
